Nice day

February 16, 2007 at 8:11 pm (Daniel, Drew, Grandma)

Well today was the first full day after Grandma went home.  Daniel seemed fine, only when he heard her voice on the answering machine he got really excited.

I took both boys to get their pictures taken and I think we got some good ones.  I do hate how expensive it is to get pictures here.  It is the same price you would pay at a very high end place in the states only it is not even close to high end.  When we visit the states next we will go to a place there and get a family picture done.

We came home after the picture and I had to put Daniel down for a nap.  He was so cranky and didn’t want to take him anywhere like that.  Drew slept too and then I was trying to get some cleaning done but fell asleep on my bed.  Didn’t realize I was that tired…lol.

After naps I put the boys in my double stroller and did my “stairwell chores”  After that we walked to the Commissary since it was such a nice day.  Came home and had dinner.  Now it’s after 9.  Where did the time go???

Getting out of debt

February 5, 2007 at 5:35 pm (Army, Benjamin, Money)

In the first few years of our marriage, my husband and I were stupid.  Instead of paying off the small debt we had, we just got more.  Well in Oct 2005 it kinda hit it’s limit.  We could no longer live like we were and so the decision was made for Ben to join the Army.  He had been in before and he knew he would somewhat enjoy it.  We also knew it would support us and help us get out of our hole.

Well when you first join the Army you don’t get paid right away.  And then they screwed up on the money so things were a mess months later.  It was so frustrating.  But ever since Ben left for Iraq we have been hitting it hard.  We have paid off 24% of our credit card debt since Sept 1st!!! That is exciting.  After months and months of seeing our debt go up it is so nice to see it go down and to pay off credit cards.

We have a lot of goals and we know in order to complete them we have to be out of debt.  It will be a long road but we are on it and slowly making our way :)

Missing my husband

February 2, 2007 at 12:41 pm (Benjamin, Deployment, Iraq, Marriage)

My husband is on day 154 of a one year tour of Iraq.  Although we pray he will be home sooner than a year.  I have been doing pretty good with it.  But sometimes I cry.  Maybe it’s seeing a picture of a friend with her husband.  Maybe it is hearing about another daddy with their child.  Maybe it is when I look at pictures of my husband with his kids and see how big they have gotten since then.  It breaks my heart sometimes.  But I am getting through it.  One day at a time.  When I am really sad I sit down and write my husband.  I write him about our day, what we have been up to.  And that really helps.  This really has been the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

I have boys!!!

February 1, 2007 at 10:34 pm (Boy, Sports)

I never thought I would be a mom of all boys.  I am, so far anyways.  I am happy about this.  Boys are fun.  I like that I have sons.  I am excited about seeing them grow into nice, young, men.  I look forward to Cub scouts, Little League and football games.  That is assuming my boys take after their dad with his love of sports.  I hope at least one of them does.  I know it would be very exciting for DH to share that love with them.

DH and I do want a 3rd child, although sometimes I worry I won’t be able to handle it all.  But anyways, we would both love a girl.  But I think 3 boys would be cool too.  The thing is if the next one is a boy, I will have to mourn the loss of never having a daughter.  That will be hard.  But I know I would get over it.  I do think there are positives to being a mom of all boys :)

Little People

January 31, 2007 at 8:48 pm (Daniel, Little People)

My son Daniel (28 months) loves Little People.  He doesn’t really play with the sets but loves the people and animals.  Well today I was watching him play with them.  It was so interesting what he was doing.  First he lined all the people up.  He always does this but this time he made them into couples.  Each 2 were facing each other.  Then he decided to put them in more of a “follow the leader” type line.  I just want to know what he is thinking when he plays like that.  He is so interesting sometimes.  It really amazes me!!!
